Audience-first purpose

We choose topics for first-time and aspiring bird owners who need practical help with preparation, species needs, housing, nutrition, behavior, enrichment, health, and safety. Articles should answer a clear reader need rather than exist only to attract search traffic.

Research and sources

Writers and editors are expected to distinguish established care principles from opinion, avoid unsupported certainty, and consult appropriate sources for factual and safety-sensitive claims. Depending on the topic, sources may include veterinary organizations, animal-welfare bodies, academic or professional publications, government guidance, and reputable species-care resources.

Source quality, recency, relevance, and limitations matter. A link or citation does not transfer responsibility for our wording to the source.

Health and safety coverage

Health articles provide general education, not diagnosis or treatment. We avoid promising cures, minimize unsafe home-treatment instructions, and identify situations where timely avian veterinary care is more appropriate than continued online research.

We do not claim that every article has been reviewed by a veterinarian. When specialist review is obtained, it should be described accurately and specifically.

Authorship and production tools

The Little Wing Guide editorial team is responsible for topic selection, review, publication, correction, and updates. Digital tools may assist with research organization, drafting, editing, formatting, or image development, but tool use does not remove editorial responsibility for the published result.

Bylines and contributor descriptions must not invent qualifications, firsthand experience, or professional credentials.

Images and media

We aim to use original, licensed, commissioned, or otherwise authorized images. Illustrations should not misrepresent dangerous equipment, food, handling, species traits, or medical conditions. Decorative images are not evidence for a care recommendation.

Commercial independence

Little Wing Guide does not currently publish paid placements or use affiliate links. If a commercial relationship is introduced, it will be disclosed clearly and will not guarantee favorable coverage. Editorial conclusions should remain based on reader usefulness, evidence, and safety.
